2003 Memphis P.Tails side project, The Sons of the Unlucky. Left to right: JR "The Man of Steel" Ross (pedal steel guitar), Darin (electrical guitar and vocals), JC (dog house bass), Jeffrey Morris (acoustical guitar and vocals) , and noted eccentric and drummer Kerry Cooper.

The Sons played a mix of classic country and more recent stuff by the so-called "New Traditionalists". Of course we mixed in some good old blues and roots rock too. It was the perfect mix of tunes to keep us from ever getting steady work. The country places didn't lke us 'cause we didn't play any Top 40, and the rock places hated us because we played so much old school C&W. The Sons had a lot of fun in the short time we were together, but after about 20 gigs we disbanded.
